The Eaton Town Board voted at the May 19, 2022 Town Board Meeting to not bill residents in the Governor’s Ranch and Aspen Meadows neighborhood for their non-potable water charges for the month of May 2022. The decision was in reaction to the delayed repair of the neighborhood’ non-potable irrigation system. The irrigation system is scheduled to be operational by May 27, 2022.
Residents and households located in the Governor’s Ranch and Aspen Meadows neighborhood can expect a $0.00 charge for the month of May in recognition of the delay in service caused by the broken pump and electrical issues. Residents in these neighborhoods will begin paying for this service again in June.
Both the Town Board and staff recognize the frustration the delays have caused in local neighborhoods. This decision was made in acknowledgment of the inconveniences caused by the delayed project completion.
Interim Town Manager Wesley LaVanchy noted, “As the irrigation system comes online, it is imperative that homeowners honor the water times, schedules, and restrictions to preserve the integrity of the irrigation system and keep from depleting the well and causing damage. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We are a better community working together.” Water restrictions include no watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and a scheduled approach to watering, with residences with even-numbered addresses watering on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of each week, and residences with odd-numbered addresses watering on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays of each week.
