Atmos Energy has informed the Town that they have crews working and are now having to "purge" all meters until they have a good natural gas flow. This is odorized gas, so the public may smell some gas in the air, but it should dissipate rapidly.
Atmos crews are working to resume gas service at each residency and working to assure that any appliances and/or pilot lights are properly re-ignited. They are working with property owners on the best times to let technicians into their homes/property. Atmos returned service to the food and restaurant customers as a priority to allow them to resume normal operations.
Customers with questions are encouraged to call the Atmos Energy customer contact center at 888.286.6700.
