The Town of Eaton is closely monitoring the news about Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and understands the concern community members may have. We affirm our commitment to protecting the health and safety of residents and employees, while still providing services to the public.
Town Offices (Town Hall and Police Department) will continue to be closed to the public. The Town will continue to evaluate based on direction from Federal, State, and other Local agencies whether we will reopen prior to that time or on that date. We’ve made the decision to close facilities in an effort to protect public health and prevent the spread of the virus. These actions are in line with directives from the State of Colorado to minimize person-to-person contact.
During the closure Town staff will still be working regular hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, to assist residents by phone or email. Residents can drop off utility payments and election ballots at the drop box in front of Town Hall or send them via mail. Residents are encouraged to sign up for online bill pay via our website townofeaton.colorado.gov.
The Town continues to monitor the situation closely with the Weld County Office of Emergency Management and the Weld County Department of Health and Environment and monitoring information shared by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment and Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
We urge all Eaton residents and community members to protect themselves with the most up-to-date coronavirus prevention practices and measures recommended by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Additionally, as with any respiratory virus, people should continue to practice these steps:
- Clean your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Follow the CDC recommended distancing of six feet.
