Update on Library COVID 19 Response
To our valued patrons:
Since March 15th, the Eaton Public Library has been closed in compliance with orders issued by the Colorado governor’s office. The library will reopen for walk-in services once we receive approval to do so. While we have been closed, the library staff has worked to disinfect surfaces in the library and quarantined the collection.
At present we offer Internet and phone-based services for information access and to request items for checkout. We will print, scan, or fax documents when possible and offer curbside pick up for documents and materials.
Please phone us at 970-454-2189, Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 2 pm to learn more about how to access these services. We are eager to hear from you!
We are also adapting our programs and activities for online and remote access. Visit the Eaton Public Library Facebook page and website to learn more; library staff are working hard to create interesting opportunities for creativity and learning. There are online storytimes by Miss Judy, bilingual content by Miss Katie, a code club, and craft projects--along with cooking classes, yoga, and more. Follow our page on Facebook to receive automatic updates.
The annual Summer Reading Program (SRP) is still happening, with ways for everyone to participate. It will kick off on June 1st. Many local businesses have generously donated prizes, despite the current circumstances. We are thankful for their support of the SRP, especially on behalf of the children of our community. You can see which businesses are participating and register for the reading challenge at https://townofeaton.colorado.gov/library/SRP .
Like so many in this unprecedented time, we don’t know when or if we will be able to return to the familiar library services we love. I am asking for your understanding and compliance with the new rules that will be needed to keep you and our staff safe.
Keep checking our website https://townofeaton.colorado.gov/library and Facebook page for updates on our services and activities. For now, the library is only a phone call away.
Please stay safe and well,
Brenda Carns, Library Director
