FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Release date: February 7, 2018
Tragically the community lost a young life last night in an automobile accident with a train at the intersection of 5th street. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all who mourn.
First responders should be commended for their handling of the situation and their response to the scene.
The public is invited to two open houses next week to learn about safety improvements that will be made to the Highway 85 Corridor, which will include closing some railroad crossings on county roads. While the railroad-crossing closures will impact the public’s access points to the highway, the county will continue to maintain these county roads.
